What to Expect
Welcome to the latest iteration of Song House. The industry and the algorithms are always changing, but our North Star remains the same. We believe that writing amazing songs, telling true stories, and capturing incredible live performances are the keys to success.
In a world full of AI and uncertainty, we are here to deliver high quality, authentic art.
Truth Wins.
The entire experience lasts approximately three hours and is structured as follows:
A 30 to 45 minute co-write with one or two other participants.
A 30 minute session to showcase the song written in the first round.
A 30 to 45 minute co-write with one or two other participants.
A 30 minute session to showcase the song written in the second round.
Note: We may shoot a few extra videos of songs we have written prior to this experience. This may extend the content session depending on whose song we need to film.
No Prep Needed: There is no need to prepare new music or bring pre-written ideas. We want the magic to happen in the moment.
You are welcome to bring an instrument you enjoy playing. However, if you are not an experienced player, we will ask you to perform along with provided tracks.
We reserve the right to utilize you solely as an artist, as a songwriter, or both depending on session needs. We pair you based on your strengths.
When your session coincides with a Song House Live date, your writing and performance will be observed by a live audience. These have been some of the best experiences for our Song House participants.
Also, you may be selected to write a song specifically for an audience member, to help them tell their story in ways they could never. If you are selected, you will be notified prior to the event.
Please note that we host only one round for the live audience.
Co-write: You have 30 to 45 minutes to finish a pre-chorus and a hook.
The Tracks: We provide tracks specifically designed for your style.
Instrument Choice: If you are proficient on an instrument and it matches your brand, you can use that instrument instead of a track for the writing process.
The Topic: You will write on a specific topic, whether it is your own story, a project for film/TV, or a story shared by a guest.
After your writing is completed you will submit your lyrics. Do not worry, you do not have to memorize your lyrics. We will have them on a screen where you can read and feel comfortable making sure you know the lyrics of the song that you just wrote.
Your performance is incredibly important. Imagine the camera as your live audience. If a song or performance is not coming across effectively, we will offer suggestions or move on to the next piece.
We spend 5 to 10 minutes dialing in an honest "story intro." We decide together if the song needs it or is stronger without it.
You get three takes. Do not stop if you mess up. We use vocal comping and tuning to create the perfect final video content.
We stand together to celebrate and support. If someone messes up, we celebrate their effort and provide even louder support.
Song House owns all video and audio content shot during sessions. This does not mean we own the song you have written.
This is a co-publishing camp. Specifics are handled on a per-song basis.
If you tell a story that you are not ready for the world to hear, just let us know. We will always ask for permission to release the video if the story is too personal. Alternatively, we can always cut out the intro and release the video that way. It is up to you, and we will honor your decision.
You may release independently with our approval. We support your decision and can assist in finding producers.
"Song House is the fuel, but you are the fire."
When your video takes off, the responsibility shifts to you. You must engage those fans by replying to every comment and continuing to share your story on your own pages. By replying to every comment, you build a truthful and authentic fan base.
We want to see you thrive well beyond Song House. Use our platform as a launchpad to fuel your individual career.
The biggest hurdle for most artists is maintaining consistency in content creation and release schedules. If you struggle in this area, we offer an Artist Bootcamp designed to help you master the process.
Some of you already have a thriving social presence, while others are just starting out. If you are new to content creation or need a more structured approach, this Bootcamp is the right next step for your growth.
If the song we create is great, and we feel it works for the Song House platform, we will approach you with a singles deal for a collaboration project. Every deal is unique to the artist and where you are in your career.
Should you choose to complete and release your song independently, outside of Song House, we fully support that decision. However, Song House retains the right to co-release the song if we determine it is the most advantageous path for the track.
You must receive approval from us before moving forward with any release of the song. We approve almost all requests, so please do not hesitate to contact us.
